January Meeting

December's meeting was another fun one! Thanks again to Laura for hosting. We started talking about Don Quixote, but then tangented into politics, kids, bats, and the Tudor dynasty, amongst other topics.

For our next meeting, we will be reading The Little Prince.

No, not that one. It's available from Amazon here.

I'm going to send out an email to set up a date for the next meeting; please email Kate at kate (at) katekaynak (dot) com if you have any questions or suggestions.

December Meeting

We had a lovely time last night at our first meeting! Special thanks to Laura for hosting and to Lorianne for her insights into Alice and Oxford.

Next meeting: December 17th at 6:30pm
To RSVP, please email Kate at kate (at) katekaynak (dot) com.

For our next meeting, the group picked Don Quixote. There is an interesting comparison of the different English translations here, for readers who would like insight into some of the options.

The Grossman translation is highly regarded; it is available from Amazon here.

A free Amazon download is available here.

If readers find themselves short on time, an abridged version is available here. It conveys the plot well, but apparently much of the charm of the original was left on the cutting room floor.

For January, the group selected The Little Prince. Several of us remember reading it in the original French back in school, and we are looking forward to actually understanding it this time.

This is going to be the online home of the Hopkinton, NH book club. We will post links to our upcoming scheduled and suggested books, as well as relevant information, useless information, funny memes, and possibly pictures of cats.
